The Hof Germanfest celebrates German culture and Ogden's sister city: Hof, Germany!
THE BEGININING
The International Sister City program between Ogden and Hof, Germany began in 1954 when Ogden City Mayor, Raymond Wright, prompted by Frank M. Browning sponsored August Brand from Hof, Germany “to work at the Bank” (of Utah)” in the Ogden branch.
This historical connection laid the foundation for the enduring and meaningful relationship we celebrate today
Vision
According to Sister Cities International, the program began officially in 1956 when “President Dwight D Eisenhauer envisioned a way for US cities to create formal partnerships with foreign cities.” Municipality to municipality cities could exchange information and ideas in order to develop friendships and deepen cultural understanding
